After about 10-15 min since being seated, another couple came in and were seated in the booth next to us and our waitress attended them, right away we could hear her tone change and the way she spoke to them, with a more caring and friendly way, just the exact opposite of how we were treated.
#ELMER DINER HOW TO#
Every now and then I would catch her staring at us from a distance with disdain on her face, and she would serve us fast and quick as to get our food out quick so we can fishing up fast and leave, and when we would say thank you to her, she wouldn?t even respond she would just continue like we weren?t even there, and at one point she held her food tray so close to my wife?s face that my wife how to back up as to not get hit by it. And from the get go we could tell she wasn?t too pleased to be serving us, she had a very abrupt tone towards us, with this really serious and bothered look on her face through out our time there. First off, upon entering no one greeted us, and then after being seated, our waitress came over to take our order.

Typically I?m not one to leave reviews but I had too, due to the service we received. I rate this diner 2 stars due to my two experiences. I refuse to spend another dime at this diner again. But her attitude is very unacceptable and uncalled for especially when I was nothing but polite and respectful. It?s a shame too, because the other staff are welcoming and the food is pretty decent. Simply due to her negative interaction with me during two encounters I would not recommend anyone that I know to eat at this diner. I idk if it?s the population of clients that I work with, if it?s because of my race (due to majority of the area the diner is located and the customers being of a particular race) or if it?s just simply because she?s generally not a nice person, but she was very rude for each of my encounters. Again as I asked for a receipt she was very rude and had a attitude. This time during check out she made me and my client wait until she was done talking with another staff before allowing us to pay for the bill. During this visit she again she was not welcoming and appeared to have a unspoken attitude towards me. Although I was not sure if I wanted to go to the diner again I still agreed, because in spite of the lady I actually enjoyed the staff and the food. The following week I went to the diner again, but with another client. He also did not mind that I asked for a receipt once the bill was paid. The second time that I?ve visited the diner it was a nice experience overall, because during this visit because there was a different person at the register that day and he was very welcoming.

I instantly picked up the negative energy, but ignored it and figured she was having a bad day.

I asked for a receipt and she made it seemed as if it was a inconvenience just by me simply asking for a receipt. During checkout the lady at the register was not as friendly. It was until checkout that my experienced turned sour. The dish that I ordered was actually pretty good too. The first time I went the staff were friendly and made sure to check in at our table often. I have clients that recommend to eat at this local diner, due to having a good food selection compared to the other local diner nearby. I have been to this diner three times and I can say 2/3 left a bad impression.
